Murals and other "Things"

Before Jackson and Isaac were born we often called them "Thing 1" and "Thing 2." So when the discussion of how to decorate the nursery came up, our minds immediately went to the wonderful Dr. Seuss. My amazingly talented husband decided to paint murals on the walls (apparently he had more time on his hands back then!) We had people tell us it was a waste of time to do something so elaborate because the boys would want something new in a few years. Well, so far they are still in love with their Dr. Seuss walls!

Here are some snapshots of the artwork:

The artist

The artist's oh-so-pregnant and somewhat miserable wife (wearing Erik's shirts because my maternity shirts got too small!).

The Cat in the Hat--my mom's contribution (she's an artist too)

A landscape scene from The Birthday Book

Horton (my personal favorite)

The ABC Book characters

And some shots of Thing 1 and Thing 2 (taken by my friend Jen):

How fabulous! I love Dr. Seuss, and I considered doing a nursery with that theme, but we don't have that kind of raw talent. The truffula trees are amazing. Love it!
